The Dean of the College of Dentistry at the University of Baghdad, Prof. Dr. Raghad Abdul Razzaq Al-Hashimi, participated in the Iraqi Engineer’s Day Celebration, organized by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research – Iraq under the patronage of Prime Minister Eng. Mohammed Shia’ Al-Sudani.
The celebration was held on June 10, 2024, at Al-Hakim Hall, University of Baghdad, in the presence of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, the President of the University of Baghdad, Prof. Dr. Bahaa Ibrahim Ensaf, along with a number of prominent academic and engineering figures.
Purpose of the Celebration
The event was organized to honor and recognize the vital role of Iraqi engineers in building and developing society and strengthening infrastructure across Iraq.
In his speech, the Minister of Higher Education emphasized the importance of the occasion in highlighting the significant contributions of engineers in various fields, stressing the need to support and encourage young engineering talents to achieve further accomplishments.
He also praised the notable role of the Department of Construction and Projects in reconstructing and rehabilitating Iraqi universities and their institutions, in coordination with university construction and projects departments.
Honoring Distinguished Engineers
During the ceremony, several distinguished figures in the engineering field were honored by the Minister of Higher Education in recognition of their outstanding contributions and dedicated service to the nation.
The celebration reflects the Ministry’s commitment to strengthening the role of engineers in society, supporting their professional journey, and providing an environment that fosters creativity and innovation. It also represents an opportunity for engineers and academics to exchange expertise and ideas, enhance cooperation between educational and engineering institutions, and contribute to sustainable development and a better future for Iraq.
