Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Dentistry, Professor Dr. Raghad Abdul-Razzaq Mohammed

The College of Dentistry at the University of Baghdad organized a scientific seminar entitled “The Spread of Chickenpox in Children and its Complications,” presented by Assistant Professor Dr. Hiba Fadhil Hassan, and attended by a number of faculty members.

The seminar aimed to introduce the virus that causes chickenpox, a common disease that leads to an itchy rash and the appearance of red spots and blisters all over the body.

The scientific symposium also covered several topics, including understanding the mechanism of infection of the viral disease and its rapid spread among children. A person infected with chickenpox can transmit the virus even before showing any symptoms. The symposium also addressed the clinical signs and complications of the disease, methods of diagnosing the virus, and ways to treat and prevent it.

The symposium recommended the importance of vaccination to prevent chickenpox. It emphasized that children should not be deliberately exposed to chickenpox under the mistaken belief that contracting it at a young age is safer, as this belief is incorrect and can lead to serious problems.
