Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Dentistry, Professor Dr. Ali Ismail Ibrahim, the Unit of Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance at the College of Dentistry, University of Baghdad, organized an awareness campaign on the occasion of National Afforestation Day, as part of efforts to promote environmental awareness among students and encourage them to contribute to preserving the university environment.

The campaign included the display of several awareness posters throughout the college corridors, addressing various topics related to the concept of afforestation and its environmental and health importance. It also highlighted methods of environmental preservation and the importance of expanding green spaces, in addition to introducing the objectives of afforestation and its role in improving air quality, reducing pollution, and enhancing the aesthetic appearance of educational institutions.

The campaign also featured a tree-planting activity within the college grounds using seasonal and evergreen seedlings, reflecting a spirit of generosity, environmental care, and commitment to preserving nature and green spaces.

The campaign aimed to spread a culture of environmental care and strengthen awareness of the importance of trees in achieving ecological balance, as well as encouraging students to participate in environmental and voluntary initiatives that contribute to preserving green areas and developing a sense of responsibility toward the environment.

This campaign comes as part of a series of awareness activities organized by the College of Dentistry to enhance students’ environmental awareness and support community efforts aimed at protecting the environment and achieving sustainable development both inside and outside the university campus.
