Under the patronage of the esteemed Dean of the College of Dentistry at the University of Baghdad, Professor Dr. Ali Ismail Ibrahim, the Agricultural Unit, in cooperation with the Oral Diagnosis Department, organized tree-planting activities to mark the National Afforestation Day. This initiative was part of ongoing efforts to raise environmental awareness and improve the university’s surroundings. The event was attended by the respected Dean, along with several faculty members, staff, and students.
The activities included a campaign to plant trees in the college gardens, where a number of seasonal and evergreen saplings were planted, in addition to various flowers and ornamental plants in the green spaces within the college. These efforts contributed to enhancing the aesthetic appearance of the university environment and increasing its appeal.
The initiative aimed to beautify the college gardens while also instilling a culture of environmental care, preservation of green spaces, and appreciation of nature—given its vital role in promoting environmental health and creating a more vibrant educational atmosphere.
This step comes as part of the College of Dentistry’s continuous efforts to contribute to environmental stewardship and strengthen environmental awareness among members of the university community, in line with the university’s commitment to supporting sustainable environmental initiatives.
