The College of Dentistry Council at the University of Baghdad held its regular meeting, the thirty-first session, on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, chaired by the Dean of the College of Dentistry, Professor Dr. Ali Ismail Ibrahim, and attended by the Vice Deans and Heads of Scientific Departments.
The meeting began with a review of the directives of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the University of Baghdad Presidency, and the Dean, followed by a discussion of ways to enhance academic and administrative performance and make the necessary decisions to ensure the best interests of the College.
The meeting included a presentation by Professor Dr. Yasser Abdul Kadhim Yasser and Professor Dr. Ali Abbas Abdul Karim, who discussed research opportunities related to European Union programs and the prospects they offer for supporting scientific research and strengthening academic cooperation. The Council also discussed the mechanism for finalizing the new journal of the College of Dentistry. Furthermore,
the Council discussed proposals submitted by the scientific departments, the Scientific Affairs Department, the Postgraduate Studies Department, the Student Affairs Department, and the Administrative Department, all aimed at meeting the needs of the job market.
This meeting comes within the framework of the periodic meetings of the College Council, which aim to make appropriate decisions in accordance with its agenda and in line with the applicable instructions and regulations, in an effort to implement the directives of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the directives of the Presidency of the University of Baghdad related to the educational and academic process
