Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Dentistry, Professor Dr. Ali Ismail Ibrahim, the College of Dentistry at the University of Baghdad organized a continuing education course entitled “Contemporary Concepts in Orthodontic Practice”, with the attendance of several faculty members.
The continuing education course aims to enhance modern knowledge in orthodontics by reviewing contemporary techniques and advanced concepts, contributing to improved diagnostic quality, treatment outcomes, and clinical practice efficiency.
The course included several key topics, most notably:
Applications of 3D printing in orthodontics.
The role of e‑learning in developing professional skills.
Causes, diagnosis, and prevention of root resorption.
Management of impacted canines and treatment decision‑making.
Keeping pace with recent advances in orthodontic practice.
The course recommended the following:
Adoption of modern digital technologies in clinical work.
Development of skills through continuing and electronic education.
Emphasis on early detection of root resorption.
Improved treatment planning for impacted canine cases.
Following up on scientific advancements in orthodontics.
