Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Dentistry, Professor Dr. Ali Ismail Ibrahim, the College of Dentistry at the University of Baghdad organized a continuing education course entitled “The Biochemical and Histological Effects of Vitamins and Their Impact on Oral and Dental Health,” attended by a number of the college’s faculty members.

The course aimed to highlight the biochemical and histological effects of various types of vitamins and to explain their vital role in maintaining oral and dental health. It also focused on raising awareness of the importance of vitamins in preventing oral diseases and promoting overall health.

The course covered several key topics, including:

The histological effects of vitamins in the human body.
The biochemical effects of vitamins and their role in biological processes.
The consequences of vitamin deficiencies in the human body.
The impact of vitamin deficiencies on oral manifestations and symptoms in children.
The effect of Vitamin D supplementation on oral health, dental health, and supporting tissues.

The course recommended the following:

Enhancing scientific knowledge regarding the role of vitamins in oral and dental health.
Developing the diagnostic capabilities of healthcare professionals in identifying conditions related to vitamin deficiencies.
Encouraging scientific research and professional development in fields related to nutrition and oral health.
Promoting patient education and raising awareness about the importance of proper nutrition and its role in preventing oral diseases.
