Under the auspices of the Dean of the College of Dentistry University of Baghdad, Professor Dr. Raghad Abdel Razzaq Muhammad, the College organized a continuing education course on the Application of laboratory safety, in the presence of a number of faculty members in the college.
The course included a full explanation of laboratory safety and security, which means the correct management of the laboratory through an explanation of what the laboratory must contain of personal safety equipment and security requirements for laboratory workers. This is done by identifying the types and uses of safety equipment, identifying the types of vital safety cabinets. The course also included various topics, namely:
1- Biosecurity and Biosafety
2- Types of ventilation systems and hoods
3- Food labeling
4- Basic safety equipment in laboratories and their uses
5- Biosecurity levels in laboratories
At the end they emphasized on the necessity of providing the worker with protective equipment and educate them to follow safety roles.
