Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Dentistry, Professor Dr. Raghad Abdul Razzaq Muhammad, the College of Dentistry at the University of Baghdad, the Rehabilitation, Employment and Follow-up Unit, organized a scientific symposium entitled Electronic Cigarettes and Oral Health within the activities of the Global Entrepreneurship Week. It was delivered by A.L. Hiba Khazal Mahmoud and attended by a number of college students.
The scientific symposium aimed to increase students’ awareness of the potential risks of electronic cigarettes and their impact on human health in general and oral health in particular.
The scientific symposium also included several axes, the most important of which are: identifying the types of electronic cigarettes and their components and the harm they cause to human health as well as to the respiratory system and increasing the chance of contracting serious diseases and their impact on oral health, tooth decay and gum inflammation.
The symposium recommended not to use electronic cigarettes of all kinds as an alternative to traditional cigarettes due to their harm to human health and oral health.
