Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Dentistry, Professor Dr. Ali Ismail Ibrahim,
The College of Dentistry at the University of Baghdad, through its Rehabilitation, Employment, and Follow-up Unit, organized a training workshop entitled “Riyada Initiative: Your Launchpad to a Future Project.” The workshop was presented by Dr. Hassan Abdul Khader Shweia, a dentist, and attended by a number of students, graduates, and staff members of the College of Dentistry.
The workshop aimed to introduce the “Riyada” initiative and its operational mechanisms, particularly after the College was designated as a training center for the initiative. The initiative plays a vital role in supporting and developing students and graduates, empowering them to transform their ideas into viable startup projects through specialized training programs and technical and advisory support. This contributes to strengthening the role of the academic institution in serving the community and supporting economic development.
The workshop covered several key topics, including:
An introduction to the concept of entrepreneurship and its importance in the contemporary job market.
Mechanisms for developing ideas and transforming them into feasible projects.
Skills for preparing business plans and simplified feasibility studies.
Identifying funding and support opportunities available for startups.
The workshop recommended the following:
Continuing to hold specialized workshops and training programs in the field of entrepreneurship.
Supporting students and graduates to incubate their projects and transform them into real job opportunities.
Strengthening partnerships between academic institutions and entities that support startups.
