The College of Dentistry at the University of Baghdad organized a seminar entitled (How to provide psychological care and support for orphan children) delivered by Assistant Professor Dr. Amal Youssef Mohsen Al-Yasiri and attended by a number of faculty members at the college.
The seminar aimed to provide comprehensive care for orphan children and understand their psychological, physical and material needs, build trust with them and create a safe environment.
The seminar also included several axes, including:
1- Understanding the needs of orphan children.
2- Building trust and establishing good relationships with them.
3- Cooperation with mental health specialists.
The symposium recommended:
1- Cooperating with mental health specialists and involving community resources in enhancing psychological and social support, by providing specialized consultations and awareness initiatives that contribute to improving mental health.
Which positively reflects on the quality of life and psychological and social stability.
2- Care and support are vital in promoting the growth and recovery of orphaned children, and helping them build a brighter future.
