Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Dentistry, Professor Dr. Raghad Abdul Razzaq Muhammad, the College of Dentistry at the University of Baghdad organized a scientific symposium entitled “Domestic Violence.” The symposium was delivered by Assistant Professor Dr. Suha Talal Abdul, and attended by a number of faculty members.
The symposium aimed to define the term “domestic violence,” its various motives and types, as well as its effects on society and ways to eliminate this phenomenon through various means.
The symposium also included several topics, including:
– The motives for domestic violence.
– Clarifying the stages of domestic violence.
– Studying the possibility of reducing domestic violence with the assistance of state agencies.
The symposium recommended the necessity of promoting love and affection among family members and avoiding and rejecting violence in all its forms due to its negative effects on society, including family disintegration and numerous social problems.
